Fixed Satellite Dish - Installation Services
Yonca Electrical certified VAST installers are capable of simple or complex, fixed and mobile installations.
Fixed installations are typically performed in a few hours after a site survey has taken place. A site survey confirms that the desired installation location has a line of sight to the orbiting satellite. You may use our satellite look angle calculator to find the compass heading and elevation angle from your address (anywhere in the world) to perform your site survey. Our most common satellite for North America is Galaxy 18 (which is the default satellite on the calculator page).
Fixed VSAT installations can include ground system pole mounts, flat and shaped roofs non-penetrating roof mounts, and custom mounting solutions. Please call us to help you decide which installation is most useful for your location.
Viewer Access Satellite Television (“VAST”) is an alternate way to receive Free To Air TV channels. Instead of using a TV Antenna, you can receive the channels via satellite.
The team at Yonca Electrical has successfully assisted applications and completed many VAST Installations. We are here to help guide you through the application process, as well as the supply and installation of all necessary equipment.
PROCESS TO GET A VAST INSTALLATION
The pathway to get VAST installed at your premises is as follows:
Perform a desktop audit and or an onsite inspection to determine if you can receive FTA TV channels with a TV antenna.
If a reasonable TV antenna installation is not possible, then one of our technicians will take signal readings on site. This may be used to accompany our application to VAST administrators.
We can assist and in some instances, submit the application to VAST on your behalf.
Upon receiving approval from VAST administrators, we will install at a date and time that is suitable for you.
Following installation, VAST administrators will work on occasion request for you to ‘re-hit’ the VAST Conditional Access Module (CAM) and smart card.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR A VAST INSTALLATION
The installation of a VAST system is quite similar to a Foxtel installation. The parts required for a VAST installation are as follows:
• Satellite Dish: made in a variety of sizes, depending on the type of installation.
• Satellite Dish Mount: made for different dish sizes, and various types of roof (e.g. flat roof, tile, tin, kliplok).
• Low-Noise Block Downconverters (LNBs): can be single, double or quad input.
• VAST Receiver: also called a set-top box.
Yonca Electrical’s team of highly qualified technicians and office-based design staff have expert knowledge of the correct VAST application and installation procedures. Furthermore, our staff are in constant contact with VAST Administrators to keep up to date with the changing landscape and rules.
